Green Valley

Established in the 1970s as a retirement community 25 miles south of Tucson

History

Picturesque Green Valley is a bustling self-contained community. Most of the residents are retired professionals and executives who spend their days involved in the community's ten social centers, hubs of recreational activity and intellectual stimulation. Shuttle buses, golf carts, bicycles and wheelchairs roll around the community's streets.

Business & Industry

Most of Green Valley's income is derived from private retirement funds, savings, stock dividends and Social Security payments, although many of the retired residents continue to work as consultants or travel to Tucson for employment. Three main shopping centers serve the town with 350 shops.
